The Legal Execution Department was primarily established
as the Civil Execution Division and the Bankruptcy Execution Division
under the office of the permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Justice. In 1974 [B.E. 2517], H.E. Mr. Sanya Dharmasakit,
Prime Minister, and H.E. Mr. Kitti Sihanon, Minister
of Justice, foresaw the important role of the two
divisions, together with the increasing workload
of civil case enforcement and bankruptcy case
management, as well as to expand a civil case
enforcement and bankruptcy case management
and deposit of property service throughout the
Kingdom, including a liquidation of partnership,
company, or juristic person under the court order to be
accurately proceeded by competent authorities and
to increase efficiency, the government passed the Act
to amend Declaration of the Revolutionary Council
No. 216 dated 29 September 1972 [B.E. 2515] [No.5]
1974 [B.E. 2517].
The Act combined Civil Execution Division and
Bankruptcy Execution Division into the Legal
Execution Department under
Ministry of Justice.
Additionally, the Act on the transfer of some
administrative works of the Permanent Secretary of
the Ministry of Justice 1974 [B.E. 2517] was enacted
to transfer the powers and duties, including all assets,
debts, officers, employees and budgets, of the Civil
Execution Division and the Bankruptcy Execution
Division to Legal Execution Department.
At present, the Legal Execution Department
consists of two operational offices in charge of two
main mission; enforcement of civil judgments, and
administration of bankruptcy and business
reorganization cases. The offices which perform
the former mission are located in Bangkok 6
offices [Ciil Case Enforcement Bangkok Office 1-6],
and other 111 offices are located throughout
Thailand. The offices responsible for the latter
mission consist of 6 division; Official Receivers
Division 1-6 and Business Reorganization office
located in the head office of the Legal Execution
Department. Moreover, the Asset Tracing and
Distribution of Dividends in Bankruptcy Cases
Division, Mediation Center, and Information
Technology and Communication Center effectively
support the missions of all offices.
